Here’s a clip explaining the Conflict Corner ๐
.
This simple strategy has saved me countless hours of resolving minor issues in class and helped to teach my students the valuable skill of conflict resolution
.
If you’ve never tried it out, give it a shot next school year and let me know how it goes ๐ก
.
You can download the poster for free on my site, check out our resource page or just google "The Conflict Corner" ๐๐ป
.
Of course with serious conflicts or if kids canโt come to a solution I step in and help out, but 90% of the time issues are minor and be solved on their own by kiddos ๐๐ป
.
Many times Iโve had kids come to me with a problem and then when I ask them if theyโve tried to solve it themselves at the conflict corner they just shrug it off and get back into the game because it helps them to realize that it wasnโt that big of a deal and isnโt worth taking class time to talk about
.
I’ve seen plenty of teachers remix this concept and to the "Work it Out Wall", "Solution Station" or "Peace Process" etc, so feel free to make it work for you if you don’t like the way we do it – but teaching kids this skill will be a gamechanger for your PE Program
.
By teaching kids to resolve their own conflicts you’re giving them a valuable life skill and also giving yourself more bandwidth to focus lesson on resolving minor issues and more on teaching awesome lessons ๐๐ป
