The Spiders and the Flies

To play the Spiders and the Flies all that you need is jerseys for the children to wear. This is a GREAT tag game. Start the game with a few “Spiders” in the middle of the gym floor. All the rest of the children will be wearing jerseys standing on an end line and they are the “Flies”. The object of the game is for the Flies to escape the tag of the Spiders and run safely to the other end of the gym floor. If a Spider tags a Fly then that Fly will take off their jersey and become another Spider. The game would end when there are only a few Flies left in the game. TO PLAY = the Spiders will yell “WE ARE THE SPIDERS”. The Flies will respond “WE ARE THE FLIES”. The Spiders will then say “WE>RE GOING TO GET YOU”. And then the Flies will say “JUST YOU TRY”. When the Flies say just you try is when all of the flys must go to try and make it to the other side.
