The Pit

The Pit is an activity that involves four teams of 2. Each team has their own square in a large four square type set up with mats as perimeter. Our 5th and 6th graders love it and we have done it at summer camps with 3-4 and 7-8 and they have loved it. I think it can work all the way through high school. Our kids work on their throwing, catching, and dodging skills. It can be done till there is one team left or continuous where a new team enters “The Pit” every time a team is eliminated.
