Objective of the game is to try and throw dodgeballs at the other team(s). The team that has the most people still in the game after 2-3 minutes wins. Or the team that eliminates the other team(s) wins. Divide the class into 3 equal teams. If you have a small class size of 15 or so kids, play with two teams. Each team will have a King and a Queen. Teams can have two Kings or two Queens too. Each team will wear a colored jersey. (blue, green, yellow). This will be their Kingdom name. Example: Blue Kingdom. Each team will have their own corner of the gym where they will start the game. Dodgeballs will be scattered all over the play area and soccer nets and other obstacles will be scattered too. The nets and obstacles can be used to hide behind, but students may not touch them. When the game starts students can run anywhere in the play area. They must throw dodgeballs at the other team(s). If hit by a ball you must do a exercise (jumping jacks, crab walk, etc.) This shows the King or Queen that you are out of the game and that you need to be rescued. If the King or Queen tags a player, that player may join the game again. If both King and Queen are out then another player may catch a ball to get their King or Queen in. The King and Queen will carry a shield that helps protect them. The shield can be a foam frisbee. (plastic garbage can lid or a hula hoop with a parachute)
