My Plate Dodgeball

We play a regular dodgeball but when I start to see a team get low on players, I blow the whistle and they freeze. I call on one student who has a ball in their hand, ask them what food group the color of their ball represents (using the “My Plate” colors) that their ball represents. If they tell me the correct answer, along with one food that goes in that food group, their whole team may re-enter the game. If they get it wrong, nobody gets to re-enter and we continue to play. This keeps the game going longer and reinforces our nutrition information.
