Heritage’s Circulatory Obstacle course

Heritage does a yearly Heart Week. We set up the obstacle course for an entire week for grades K-4. It is based on the AHA poem: You can have a healthy heart. It’s as easy as 1-2-3. Eat healthy stuff, move around enough and live tobacco free. Eat Healthy Stuff- Don’t get a spare tire, avoid sugary drinks, salt, cholesterol, eat a balanced diet. Move Around Enough-take the aerobic pathway, avoid stress and exercise, limit screen time to 2 hours, exercise all your muscles, if your activity level is up then your heart rate is up. Live Tobacco Free- swing away from cigarettes. We have also added a tooth brush to remind students that oral health is important to heart health.
