PORCUPINE Equipment needed: Thirteen 5 ½ nails with the big round head and a small piece of wood. The object of the game is to start with one nail vertically in the small piece of wood and then try to balance the remaining 12 nails on the head of the vertical nail. Here is how you solve the problem. Lay the bottom nail on a hard surface, and then alternate the next 10 nails on the top of the first nail. Lay the top nail on so that its head is opposite to the bottoms nail’s head. Grip this symmetrical nail arrangement at both ends and place it on the head of the vertical nail. This may take some fiddling about, but it does work.
