Students love playing this game! Set up two targets from about 8 steps apart. Set up a “ball stopper” behind each target. have students take turns and throw a ball toward the target. They may use the underhand throw or the overhand throwing motion depending on what you are teaching. vary the distances between each target depending on ability level. You may also choose to have students self-select a ball from a ball choice basket which contains a variety of different ball sizes/textures. Our older students love to keep track of points in this activity so I have found it works the best if you let the students decide how much each target is worth during a game. One group of students decided that for each time they knock over the target they have to jog around the perimeter of their play area that many number of times in an effort to incorporate physical fitness into the activity. Goal-setting is a concept that can easily be brought into this station. Have fun!
