The Grinch Scooter Game

I partner up two students with a scooter at one end of the gym with one giant stocking for all of the students, they are the Whos in Whoville. Then I pick two students to wear a green shirt to be the Grinchs, they are the taggers, and they both have their own scooter. At the other end of the gym there are bean bags and we pretend they are the presents at the Grinch’s mountain cave. When the music starts the Whos go across the gym with their scooter on their belly to get back a present and put it in the Who’s stocking. If a Grinch tags them they drop the present on the floor and switch with their partner. After 3 minutes I stop the music and we count the presents and switch out the Grinches. I have also read the Dr. Suess book before we played the game. It really gets my students excited to do their best. They love to see who will be the best Grinches.
