Lizard Tag – Predator vs Prey

My name is Stephen Rusterholz and I’m the Physical Education teacher at Highland Elementary in Burlington, NC. The game in this video is called lizard tag. A brief description is listed below but much of it is explaing in the video.

Students will be learning…

– Fun facts about lizards

 – how lizards have a defense mechanism (dropping their tales)

– the different types of lizards

– the different types of preys that try to eat lizards

The preys (with a green pinnie and picture on) try to go around and step on the lizards tail. If they step on the lizards tail, it drops out of the students pocket, the same way a lizard would drop its tail to get away from a predator. If this happens, we tell the student they need to regrow their lizard tail by going to the side of the gym and doing an exercise. I hope you enjoy the video and would appreciate comments to help out.
