Beat the Clock

Students gather in the middle of the gym. A circle marked on the floor works well as a gathering place. The teacher chooses two students to be garbage collectors. They move to a designated starting point on the perimeter of the gym. Meanwhile the teacher has scattered at least 100 items (this depends on your class size…. it could be less or more) throughout the gym. The students are told that they have to pick up all the trash before the garbage collectors make it around the gym 3 times. The students can only pick up one item at a time and place it 2 trashcans.
