students who haven’t ever played the game will understand some of the basic rules
.
For this task we practice dribbling in open space throughout the gym and students are learning what it means to "Travel", "Double Dribble" or let the ball go "Out of Bounds" which all result in a turn over in a real game – so to earn our ball back, we do 5 reps of an exercise before returning to the activity
.
Introducing rules like this during simple tasks will make it much easier when you start playing modified games because students will have a basic understanding of Basketball Rules
