Treasure Island

Divide the class into 14 teams (you can modify it according to your class size). Seven teams are on one side of the gym and seven are on the other part of the gym (vertical ends of a court). Place each team behind a color cone. These are the “Pirate ships”. Players line up in a single file line and run out to the middle one at a time from each team to try to steal a piece of treasure from the island. When the pirate makes it back to their cone they place the treasure inside a hula hoop- the pirates> treasure chest. After all the treasures are gone from the middle, the pirates start taking from the other pirate ships. They can only take treasure from the pirate ships across from them (the other side of the gym.) They can not take the treasure from the pirate ships next to them. Which ever team has the most treasure when the music stops, wins a point for their team.
