I’ve shared before about our Daily Self Assessment in PE, but haven’t ever shared this one – hope it gives you a simple idea if you need one for a daily class check
.
In addition to our Daily Self Assessment at the end of our PE class, we do a quick Class Assessment before we head out of the gym each day
.
This is a part of our PBIS initiative at our school where kiddos can collect incentives for positive behaviors – we hand out Pom Poms for positive behaviors and when kids fill up their Pom Pom Jar they get a class reward (they then dump it in a huge container and when it hits a certain level we get a school wide reward)
.
As a related arts team we all decided on these 3 postivie behaviors to measure each day:
– Hands and Feet to ourselves
– Listening During Instructions
– Participation and Effort
.
PS – Getting to be the Chosen One who gets to carry the Pom Pom is a pretty BIG DEAL 🤣
.
If your school doesn’t have schoolwide rewards, you can do a sticker chart with all classes and provide the students a 10m tag game or another fun favorite bonus activity once students reach a certain level 💡
