Noodle Hockey

A floor hockey lead-up activity using noodles and a beach ball. I>ve found that using noodles is much safer to begin with than hockey sticks and using three goals allows students to work on goalie skills more often. Sometimes I divide students into zones (for example 3 students from each team in a limited zone) which enables me to discuss spacing and passing with students. In this clip there are no zones and the student are “flocking” to the ball, so this is a class that I would most likely move to zones with. A fourth grade class is participating, but this game can be played in grades 3-6 easily. Using different colored noodles helps too if you have them!
