The students are working on jumping for distance. This is an activity that can be done after teaching the students the cues and giving them the proper information to be successful in the skill.
Have the students make a V with their jump rope. You can pretend that there is something in the middle of the jump rope that they want to avoid- I use a gator. This increases the student’s motivation and they make they connection about varying distances in jumps.
The students can gradually make the jump rope bigger as they are succesfull. It is differentiated for the needs of the individual student and helps them pace the lesson so they feel comfortable and most importantly successful.
Have fun!
