Two groups of students: one with bowling pins and one with a beanbags. Students pretend the bowling pins are Ghost and the group with the bowling pins are the protectors. The group with the beanbags are the ghost hunters. Ghost hunters travel from ghost to ghost trying to knock down as many as they can, while ghost protectors play defense.
Challenge Rounds (not shown, but great for the older kids): Have PB&J partners keep track of how many times they knock down a ghost or how many times their ghost get know down. When partners come back together they compare numbers (ah, math teachers are loving you!) then challenge them to put it in a math sentence using subtraction/addition, etc. Then add in a little exercise by telling them to complete X number of exercises from their math sentence. Take it further by having them skip count by 2s, 3s, 4s.
Class Management Techniques I used in this video: All Set? You Bet -to get them started, Peanut Butter and Jelly -two get them to partner up, Scatter like Ants - to get them to spread out, Stand up and Freeze -to transition.
Good Luck! I hope you try it.
