Through collaboration with the Kindergarten teachers this lab is designed to incorporate movement activities with literacy skills and is differentiated to support all learners. Data analysis of curriculum-based measurements identified specific literacy skills to target with Tier 2 and Tier 3 kindergarten students. Once a week students go through 6-7 literacy based centers during their normal 25 minute wellness class time. This idea was shared at the IAHPERD convention in 2007. It was presented by Susan Flynn (Purdue University) and her students. The dance I watched was a little more structured and the young man leading the dance was a much better dancer than you will see in my video. When I do this with my class as a warm up it is different every time. I have never done the dance the same way because I do not plan out the steps (very obvious).
